Badt and Co. x Jassy Husk – Nautilus II Wearable Art Collection

At Badt and Co. we love sharing with you our passion for talented artists. And Jassy Husk, through her the multi-disciplinary creative talent and her endeavours towards marine environment preservation, has a very special place in our hearts.

For our Wearable Art Collection, Jassy Husk has drawn inspiration from her Nautilus II series, 11 paintings dedicated to the beauty of marine life and the threatening situation it undergoes. Jassy uses her visually sounded art to speak about what is happening to coral reefs and the sea’s fauna. Through freediving, she discovered the world of coral reefs and their inhabitants and studied how they sound, move, thrive. Husk has learned that living, healthy coral reefs make a unique sound and communicate with flora and fauna using vibrant language. The reefs' sound is heard underwater, so nobody can actually hear it. This discovery has become an important mission – to convey the voice and even the cry of coral reefs to people. Thus the voice and sound became the Nautilus II language – where waves blur the depths of the canvas, and coral relief strokes dance with the sea breeze and the rough sand.

This acrylic symphony of our flora and fauna is so beautiful, but it fades due to climate problems with the ocean waters overheating and pollution. Husk believes that if we can hear it carefully, we'll share its beauty, and in this way, the world might change. We will listen to the ocean music of life again if we decide to pay attention to it.

Wearable art | Handpainted espadrilles

Jassy has added our espadrilles as a canvas to her talent, giving us the chance to have our very own piece of unique handpainted wearable art. She has also given us the opportunity to join her in her endeavours, with part of the proceeds supporting marine life preservation.

A powerful message conveyed by this collection, that can be found online and at our Flagship Store. Artworks are also available for sale at our Flagship Store.

Jassy Husk will hand-paint your order, please allow 3 to 4 weeks for Jassy to complete it.  To make it even more personal, would you like to add your initials on the espadrilles, please let us know by adding a note to your order.
